Judith M. Nixon is currently a professor and the liaison librarian to the College of Education at Purdue University. Most of her research has focused on development and evaluation of library collections, and she is the co-editor of Collection Management. Over her 30-plus-year career at Purdue, she has been involved in various mentoring and succession planning efforts. The most successful effort has been the development of “Faculty Review Committees," which advise, evaluate, and encourage progress towards promotion. Professor Nixon received her B.S. degree from Valparaiso University 1967 and her M.S. in Library Science from the University of Iowa in 1974.
